Drive-Text Ban Mulled by PA Law Makers

It would ban all texting while behind the wheel, talking on the phone for drivers under 18 years old, and ban hand held phones for all while driving. Sen. Robert Tomlinson of Bucks County sponsored the bill that will likely be voted on this week in the House. A second bill regarding texting was scheduled for a vote today, but has been delayed. One, issue in these proposed laws that has caused struggle amount PA law makers, is whether these actions should be primary or secondary offenses, meaning, can you be pulled over for texting, or will you be cited once you are in an accident caused by texting.
