The auto industry grabbed many of the headlines at the CES show last week as Audi announced it will offer embedded 4G service as soon as the U.S. coverage is sufficient and Mercedes-Benz launched its first embedded 3G system with apps.
BMW was notably absent as 6 of the 10 top auto makers showcased at CES including Audi, Chrysler, Ford, GM/Onstar, Kia, and Mercedes-Benz.

But for 2013, BMW and Mazda have already committed to booth space at CES, joining Ford, Kia, Audi and Hyundai, “creating an even larger…automotive presence,” said the Consumer Electronics Association.
The recent CES in Las Vegas set records as the largest show in the event’s history. Over 153,000 people attended the event January 10-13 and the number of exhibitors hit a record 3,1000. More than 20,000 new products were launched.
