Kenwood USA Corporation announced its 2011 Excellence in Sales awards at its annual Sales Representative meeting at Bally’s Hotel and Casino prior to the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV.
Dave Hoag, Kenwood’s Vice President of Sales for the Consumer Electronics Sector, said, “2011 proved to be another ‘year of challenge’ and these awards hold great significance as they provide the opportunity to publicly recognize top performing rep individuals (and companies), responsible for keeping Kenwood positioned as the premier supplier of mobile electronics in the U.S. Outstanding qualities in this year’s field include – consistently superior sales performance, proactive ‘solutions based’ strategic planning, new business development, healthy distribution practices and technical expertise. “
Brett Phelps with River City Sales, Rep Firm of the Year, paused for a photo op in the Kenwood booth.
Hoag continued, “Demonstrating outstanding sales leadership and widely respected by their dealer base, Kenwood chose MINK-state territory representative, River City Sales for its top honor – 2011 Rep of the Year. This St. Louis-based organization delivers consistent results with a very positive can-do attitude, vital to building and sustaining relationships. Congratulations to Brett Phelps, Gary Cooley, Doug Briscoe, Calvin Cooper and Terri Herring for an outstanding team effort.”
Phelps told 12voltnews.com“Being named the Kenwood rep firm of the year is such an honor. We look at it as a “territory” award. Our direct dealer base, along with our distributor’s dealer base – Pioneer Music – all worked hand-in-hand with us for a super year in 2011.”
The River City team is – Brett Phelps and Doug Briscoe in the field along with Gary Cooley, Calvin Cooper and Terri Herring in the office and distribution facility.

Terri Herring earned an additional honor from Kenwood. She was named Excellence in Administration.
A big 12voltnews.com hats off to Terri for her efforts traveling from St Louis to Dallas to work with the Sunbelt team following their tragic loss of Lisa Weadock in early 2011.
John Mancina, Sunbelt Associates
Sunbelt’s, Dave Steihl commented to 12voltnews.com “Terri was such a help to us. She came down and worked to get Katie up to speed with the tasks of internal administration procedures. Kenwood reps work together well. Lisa actually assisted Terri when she joined River City some years ago.”
