Rydeen Mobile Electronics ended the year on a strong note thanks to brisk sales of two of its newest products: The MV301K mirror/monitor/camera kit and the Ford Cam, the rear-view camera designed specifically for Ford F-Series pickups. Both products, in addition to Rydeen’s 2012 introductions, were on display in Rydeen’s booth at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012.
“We work hard to respond to the market,” said Rydeen’s National Sales Manager Jim Newell. “Our customers asked us for an OEM-grade replacement mirror with a built-in monitor for a rear-view camera. We exceeded expectations by including a camera with the kit, and now we’ve gone further to expand the camera choices available to them.”
The MV301K’s 10-inch housing fits most vehicles due to its width and a selection of available mounting stems to match specific vehicle makes and models. It features a 3.5-inch TFT color screen with a composite input, designed to turn on when the vehicle is put into reverse. The kit also includes the Rydeen MINy™ rear-view camera, which adds selectable parking lines and Super CMOS III Night Vision. Rydeen is introducing two additional camera options—the MINyHD™ and MINy LED™—at CES.
Specifically for 2009-up Ford F-Series pick-ups, the Ford Cam was introduced in late October and has quickly become a top seller due to its factory look and finish. The waterproof mini-camera with CMOS III Night Vision technology is housed within a Ford emblem which replaces the factory emblem on the tailgate of the F-Series. Installation typically requires no drilling, and it can connect to any monitor with a composite input, including Rydeen’s line of navigation mirrors and standalone monitor systems.
The complete Ford Cam kit includes the new housing with original Ford emblem, camera, screws and wiring harness, and carries a 1-year warranty with an option to upgrade to 3 years.
